Float Bowl Vent modification

Postby derived solution » 16 Apr 2010, 16:13

Been thinking of doing Kenneth Waters fabled float bowl vent mod and after finding the 2 pieces of piping in the correct diameter came home early today and did it. 30 mins after taking the tank off it was done and the bike was up and running.. Now I've not had it Jetted yet, waiting to see what Jordans of leeds say on bank holiday monday bout the fueling but I can say that the bottom end throttle response is better, and it does seem to pull cleaner at the top end.

I'll let u all know what the dyno shows when i get it checked. :D

hmmm, my two front mount bolts for the petrol tank just seem to be spinning...
think i'll have to try and squeeze in with some mole grips and pull them out unless anyone else has any better ideas??

shout at em?

My rear bolts were seized when I 1st took tank off, penetrating oil helped if you got any. But i'd try mole grips..

got em off eventually, seems to be a collared insert on each side thats spinning... oh well!
did the mod myself today and it certainly feels alot more responsive lower down the rev range than it did.

one thing i noticed was that the seal between the carbs and the airbox wasnt tight. i used some instagasket to seal this. dont suppose else has noticed this problem?
